Introduction

In an ever changing and fast paced world, training and development is an indispensable function. The Government of India has taken major initiative to promote spreading of e-Governance throughout the country in a large scale. As a result, State Wide Area Network (SWAN) and State Data Centres (SDC) have been setup to provide e-Governance solutions to citizens. In order to promote the outreach of social benefits to the citizen in a very effective manner and to facilitate sustainable and inclusive growth, many of the processes of both central and state government have been automated by large-scale application of Information Electronics and Communication Technology (IECT).

A well-trained and well-informed workforce is one of the most powerful weapons in ensuring Information Security in an organization. There is a need to upgrade the skills and capabilities of officials from both central/state governments, including Law Enforcement Agencies, Judiciary etc. and also technical persons who are working in the areas of operations and maintenance of Systems, Networking, Data center, Web based solutions, e-Security, etc.
