One Week Workshop on Digital Forensics Investigation tools from 9th to 14th October, 2017 was successfully conducted for the benefit of PG students and research scholars to provide hands-on experience on topics related to cyber security and digital forensics, the workshop was organized for 6 days with 4 sessions per day from 9a.m to 5p.m with one hour lunch break. 41 PG students and research scholars have attended the workshop .
Prof. P.S Avadhani , Principal, AU College of Engineering, gave a great start to the workshop with his keynote address and delivered a lecture on "Cyber Security and Authentication issues". The session was followed by an invited talk of Prof. D.Lalitha Bhaskari who discussed the "Impact of Cyber Security Issues". She highlighted pros and cons of Digital Forensics, Incident Response and different Forensic Tools.
Day 2,3 and 4 of the training program were handled by Mr. Abhinav Dasgupta and Mr. G. Sai Sasank from IB-Hubs, Hyderabad. They conducted hands on sessions for 3 days covering various Tools for Ethical Hacking, SQL Injections and vulnerability hacks. They also appraised the participants on best security practices related to web applications.
Day 5 and 6 were handled by Prof. D.Lalitha Bhaskari and Mr. K. Mohan, an alumni of AUCE(A), Dept of CS&SE, Security Analyst , Flipkart, Bangalore. He covered HTTP, TCP IP protocol viruses and cross site scripting attacks including practical sessions.
A total of 22 sessions of practical training was provided to enrich the participants with cyber security related skills. An examination was conducted to the participants and their feedback was collected.
