CDAC Noida has conducted One Day Awareness Workshop on Information Security for Uttrakhand Judicial and Legal Academy (UJALA) participants on August 1, 2017. The inaugural function was started with Lightning of Lamps by the dignitaries’ on Dais and the Chief Guest Shri Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.The workshop started with the welcome speech of Mr. V.K. Sharma, Director, CDAC, Noida who welcomed the honorable Chief Guest and participants from UJALA. He also discussed about the importance of such workshops for the citizens of India and its objectives.
After the Welcome Address, Shri Pavan Duggal delivered a Keynote Address to the participants. He emphasized on an evolution towards the e-society, where persons are replaced by e-applications, where all systems are interconnected, where there is a rise in the amount of mobile devices and where social networks are used increasingly. Furthermore Shri Duggal in his Keynote address stated that identity fraud is an easy thing to carry out as currently there is a poor security in legacy applications and protocols, and because the end-user is not yet educated to act properly. Cybercriminals mainly want to become rich and powerful in a rapid and easy way. Some of them want to destabilize society. He also talked about few case studies in Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws. . He also mentioned that if we want to overcome these problems, everyone has to play a role in cyber security and they have to do it as partners and in an integrated way. He appreciated CDAC to conduct such kind of workshops to aware the citizens of India.
At the end of the Inaugural Session, GC (Academics) Dr. Arti Noor delivered Vote of Thanks to the Chief Guest Shri Pavan Duggal, Mr. V.K. Sharma, ISEA Program Coordinator Ms. Neha Bajpai, Speakers, Participants and CDAC, Noida staff. She informed the schedule of the technical sessions to the participants, objective of the workshop and the importance of submitting Pre and Post Survey Forms at the Reception desk.
The workshop touched upon various topics, such as introduction to Information & Cyber Security, Cyber Laws, Ethical Hacking, introduction to Cyber Forensics and few tools and technologies of Cyber Forensics. 40 participants have successfully attended the workshop. The feedback given by the participants for the workshop was Very Good. Participants were very much satisfied with the contents discussed in the workshop. Few of the participants have requested to conduct two to three days training on Cyber Laws in future.
